My parents and grandparents suffered throughout the siege of Malta in WW2 – my family also served with the British Military in the Allies fight to rid the world of the Nazi and Fascist regimes – the award of the George Cross was to them in recognition of all that – my mother is still alive my father passed in 2002 – my grandparents lived in the 70 and 80s NONE of them EVER even thought about removing the George Cross from our flag. This was THEIR honour – we must respect that – the GC MUST ALWAYS be part of our flag.
